AAPLOG files Amicus Brief in The State of Louisiana v FDA

On Feb. 12, AAPLOG filed an important amicus brief in The State of Louisiana v FDA – a crucial case that is calling for basic medical care to be provided to women before they are given abortion pills.  Our brief addresses two crucial issues – how some so called “experts” have pursued an ideological agenda of unregulated abortion at the expense of sound medical care and how the studies the FDA relied upon to remove the required in-person dispensing requirement for mifepristone were wholly inadequate to support this decision.  It is time for the FDA to reverse their reckless actions and respect individual state laws by immediately reinstating crucial safeguards that will ultimately protect both women and their preborn children.
