Dr. Christina Francis Steps in as CEO of the American Association of Pro-Life Obstetricians and Gynecologists

The OB-GYN hospitalist hopes that under her leadership, the organization will strengthen conscience protections for pro-life medical professionals and improve the public understanding of life-affirming healthcare. 

(FORT WAYNE, IN) March 1, 2023 – Today, board-certified obstetrician and gynecologist Dr. Christina Francis began her tenure as Chief Executive Officer of the American Association of Pro-Life Obstetricians and Gynecologists (AAPLOG). Dr. Francis is taking on this position as the successor of Dr. Donna Harrison, who led the organization for the last ten years. 

“It’s my honor to serve AAPLOG in this new post-Roe era,” says Dr. Francis. “Thanks to the faithful efforts of my predecessor over the last decade, this organization is well-poised to make real life-affirming change for our members and their patients. I am excited to build on the momentum we’ve gathered under Dr. Harrison’s leadership.” 

As CEO, Dr. Francis aims to strengthen the protection of conscientious practice for  medical professionals as well as support the next generation of medicine to restore a life-affirming ethic to the profession. She also hopes that in the coming years, AAPLOG can bring its medical expertise and new research to combat false narratives circulating in the public discourse on topics such as what abortion is and what life-affirming healthcare looks like. 

A practicing OB-GYN hospitalist based in Fort Wayne, Indiana, Dr. Francis has been involved in AAPLOG since 2014. She has previously served as the organization’s Chair of the Board of Directors and Head of its Education and Advocacy Committee. 

The American Association of Pro-Life Obstetricians and Gynecologists is the world’s largest organization of pro-life medical professionals. Founded in 1973, AAPLOG equips its over 7,000 members, consisting of physicians and other medical professionals, to offer an evidence-based rationale for defending the lives of both pregnant mothers and their children.
