2-26-13 Dear ProLife Colleague, esp from New York! NEEDED: Physicians (especially Ob/Gyn’s) willing to be present for a press conference opposing the expansion of abortion in NY State. When: Wednesday, February 27th, 2013 – 11am Where: Room 130 of the Legislative Office Building at the State Capitol 198 State St, Albany, NY 12210 (You must enter through the State Capitol Building. Please allow time for security). Available: room for one more person in a car departing 7am from NYC is available. Other participants will need to drive or arrange for transportation. What: A team of medical professionals from NYC (including Dr. Ali Ko Tsai, Area Director for CMDA, Greater NYC) and the surrounding areas will be at a press conference in Albany expressing concern about Governor Cuomo’s recent public statements that he will pass the Reproductive Health Act (Senate Bill 438): http://assembly.state.ny.us/leg/?default_fld=&bn=S00438&term=2013&Summary=Y&Text=Y Two main points that the group will address are: [fusion_builder_container hundred_percent=”yes” overflow=”visible”][fusion_builder_row][fusion_builder_column type=”1_1″ background_position=”left top” background_color=”” border_size=”” border_color=”” border_style=”solid” spacing=”yes” background_image=”” background_repeat=”no-repeat” padding=”” margin_top=”0px” margin_bottom=”0px” class=”” id=”” animation_type=”” animation_speed=”0.3″ animation_direction=”left” hide_on_mobile=”no” center_content=”no” min_height=”none”][1] Governor Cuomo’s desire to pass this bill allowing late term abortions which will allow the termination of children 24 weeks and above. [2] The vague wording of the bill which would allow non-physicians to perform invasive surgical abortions. An opportunity to meet with local representatives after the conference will be available.
