Several of our staff and members attended the Celebrate Life Conference in Washington, DC at the end of June to exhibit, speak, and connect with pro-life leaders from across the movement. The conference, hosted by Sidewalk Advocates for Life and Pro-Love Ministries, is organized in honor of the 2022 U.S. Supreme Court decision in Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Center, which overturned Roe v. Wade and opened the door to stronger protections for preborn babies and pregnant women against induced abortion. In addition to the conference, co-host Students for Life of America hosted a gala, a rally, and a diaper drive which raised funds for nearly 400,000 diapers from EveryLife (a pro-life and pro-family diaper company!) to be distributed to families in need in the area. These diapers represented the number of babies killed through abortion by Planned Parenthood in 2024 alone.
On Friday, June 27, Dr. Christina Francis gave a plenary lecture as part of a joint session titled “Stop the Lies: The Truth About Women’s Health Care After Roe” alongside nurse Angela Fite of Heartbeat International. Dr. Francis reviewed the medical misinformation that is rampant about induced abortion and the evidence that corrects these lies – empowering the sidewalk advocates and pro-life warriors attending the conference with how they can help bring truth to women and the public.

Also that weekend, Dr. Francis joined Sarah Gabel Siefert, co-founder and president of EveryLife, before the Celebrate Life rally. The theme of the rally was “Defund Planned Parenthood,” a timely slogan given the U.S. Supreme Court decision for Medina v. Planned Parenthood released just days prior (more on this in the next story!). Together, Dr. Francis and Sarah Gabel discussed the importance of life-affirming physicians and the benefits of pregnancy, which can be viewed on our Instagram account here and here. Two AAPLOG members spoke on Saturday at the conference: Dr. John Bruchalski, who offered a plenary lecture titled “My Journey from Abortionist to Pro-Life Doctor,” and Dr. Monique Ruberu, who was a panelist for a breakout session titled “Creating A Culture That Celebrates Womanhood and Motherhood.”
