On September 16, AAPLOG leaders visited the offices of eight federal legislators to introduce them to AAPLOG Action, AAPLOG’s new 501(c)4 advocacy arm. AAPLOG Action’s CEO, Dr. Christina Francis, its Chair of the Board, Dr. Susan Bane, its Executive Director, Rebecca Weaver, and other AAPLOG leaders met with staff from the following Congressional offices:

These meetings offered AAPLOG Action the opportunity to share its mission, vision, and work, including:

  • To educate, encourage, and equip federal and state policy makers to preserve and enhance our ability to provide life-affirming care rather than promote death as a therapeutic option.
  • Advocate for policies that respect the dignity of all human life and promote the health and flourishing of both mothers and their children.
  • To represent the vast majority of physicians who proudly care for their maternal patients without needing to turn to abortion, which ends the lives of our patients in the womb. Our 7,000+ members are a diverse group of medical professionals spanning the country.
  • To restore trust in the medical profession. We work to renew a standard of medical excellence, relying on the integrity of updated research and evidence-based healthcare that policy makers can trust.
  • To expose the corrupt and politicized leadership of medical associations, both at the local and national levels, to ensure our patients are treated using the most up-to-date practices.

Later that evening, a reception was held for AAPLOG staff and leadership by the pro-life staff of Speaker Mike Johnson.

We are honored for the opportunity to meet with and help educate policy makers in the service of our pregnant and preborn patients.
