Students for Life of America is in search of three AAPLOG members to serve as a mentor for three students interested in medicine. Any prolife nurse, physician, midwife or PA is welcome! Here is more information about their program:
The mission of Students for Life of America’s National Leaders Collective is to prepare the Pro-Life Generation’s top students to lead in careers and volunteer activism that transform the pro-life movement.
This community of leaders includes students accepted to one of SFLA’s and SFLAction’s yearlong Leadership Fellowships designed to help students find their niche in the pro-life movement.
Simply put, the National Leaders Collective is the training students need for a career in the pro-life movement!
These Leadership Fellowships not only equip them to make the biggest impact on their campus based on their school’s unique needs, but also provide support, networking opportunities, and training to advance their pro-life skills all year.
All students accepted to a Fellowship went through an application process and were invited to an in-person kickoff weekend in Washington, D.C where we had the opportunity to meet them all and better understand their career goals. Our goal is to pair students with mentors in the field they wish to work in. For homework, it is their job to reach out to their mentors by this September and begin the mentorship.
Here are the expectations for mentors in our Fellowship:
Time Commitment: From September 2025 – April 2026, you and one student will meet a minimum of four times during the year for at least 30 minutes with your student. We recommend scheduling calls in the following months: October, December, February, and April. However, you may choose to meet whenever your schedule allows. You and the student will pick a time that works best.
Mentorship Location: You and your mentee can choose the method of communication that works best for you: Zoom, phone call, or in-person meetings (only available if you are paired with a student in the same state over the age of 18).
If you are interested in serving as a mentor, please email Cathy@aaplog.org as soon as possible and she will connect you with Students for Life so they can connect you with your student.
