This year’s annual national March for Life was held on Friday, January 19 in Washington, DC. Tens of thousands of people marched in solidarity with the pro-life cause, including many medical professionals. The theme for this year was “with every woman, for every child”, shining a spotlight on the central role that pregnancy resource centers play in supporting women in crisis. Speakers at the pre-march rally emphasized this theme, including Jean-Marie Davis, a pregnancy resource center client turned director and survivor of 25 years of human trafficking; Aisha Taylor, who credits a pregnancy resource center with preventing her from aborting her twins; Antonio de Mello, the adoptive father of 46 abortion survivors; and more.
We are extremely thankful for the AAPLOG members who came to DC from around the country to represent pro-life medical professionals. AAPLOG leaders were also brought onstage at the rally alongside other pro-life leaders – CEO Dr. Christina Francis, and Board Members Dr. Susan Bane and Dr. Catherine Wheeler. Several of our members who have completed our media training were interviewed by numerous media outlets, allowing our message of providing exceptional care for all our patients to be heard loud and strong.
The National March for Life is only the first of several marches that will be held this year. Consider attending your state march (further information here):
- Virginia March for Life: February 21, 2024 (Richmond)
- Colorado March for Life: April 12, 2024 (Denver)
- Illinois March for Life: April 17, 2024 (Springfield)
- California March for Life: April 22, 2024 (Sacramento – Dr. Francis will be speaking at the rally for this march!)
- New Jersey March for Life: September 26, 2024 (Trenton)
Seeing physicians and other medical professionals at the march is always a huge encouragement to the others attending – they are so thankful to know that we are standing strong together and with them to defend the lives of mothers and their babies! Whether it be the national march, your state march, or both, we would encourage you to meet us there next year!
