Standing for Life in January: The Pro‑Life Medical Voice At the 2026 March for Life

While many wish January away for its frigid weather and the passing of the holiday season, for the pro‑life movement, it is a month of renewed hope and determination to protect the preborn and their mothers nationwide. It is a time when our voices and chants from across the country converge to be heard at the epicenter of American life—Washington, D.C.

For AAPLOG, we marched, representing you, our members, not only for the lives of all our patients, but also to protect our profession from the corrosive ideologies that increasingly infiltrate the medical world. The oath that we took to never intentionally harm our patients demands a strong and unequivocal rejection of the claim that induced abortion is healthcare—an assertion fundamentally opposed to the principles of life‑affirming medicine.

Tragically, this falsehood has become both prevalent and pervasive in American culture. Medical organizations such as the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG) lend legitimacy to Planned Parenthood, abortion facilities, and the broader abortion industry when they fail to repudiate—or actively reinforce—the claim that induced abortion is necessary for women to thrive, rather than acknowledging what it truly is: the taking of a defenseless preborn life and the inflicting of profound harm on the mother.

Both patients suffer.

We were deeply honored to march and represent the pro‑life medical voice, standing for mothers who are often not fully informed about the breadth of their options or the profound beauty and dignity of motherhood. We also spoke for preborn children whose humanity is frequently obscured by the abortion industry through misleading labels meant to diminish their worth.

And last of all, we are a voice for you, our members, who want to stand for life but face intimidation, fear of backlash, or struggle to navigate opposition within your fields.
