When the United Nations Human Rights Council was created in 2006, it established a process to review countries’ human rights records. Each country that is a member of the Human Rights Council is expected to report every four years on what actions they have taken to improve their human rights conditions and fulfill their obligations to UN treaties. To prepare for its appearance before the Universal Periodic Review, the United States solicited input from Americans. AAPLOG submitted these comments, prepared by Dr. Donna Harrison.
