Emmanuel Hospital

Dear ProLife Colleague: AAPLOG is a pro-life medical organizaton composed of doctors and other medical professionals of various faiths. As a service to medical pro-life organizations, we may use this letter to inform you of opportunities for service. Such an opportunity exists in northern India. See the following: Emmanuel Hospital Associaton is currently comprised of 20 hospitals and 29 Comm’y Health &Devel’t projects, all located in underserved areas of rural N India. Their informative website is at < www.eha-health.org >. They have a great need for ObGyn docs, especially female, who would be willing to consider shorter or longer term involvement. A number of the hospitals have very busy OB practices along with some challenging Gyn conditions. Any Short Term doc can work ‘under’ the licensed staff docs. One of the EHA hospitals has a government approved residency program in ObGyn, BUT the Indian lady ObGyn recently left EHA. The docs and nurses understand English so, although the accent may take some getting used to, communication shouldn’t be a major problem with them. Also, they can readily assist in interpreting, when dealing with the Hindi speaking patients. IF YOU ARE INTERESTED, HERE ARE MORE DETAILS: EHA is an indigenous Protestant medical mission with a strong commitment to share the Good News in the context of their caring ministries. If applicants are not committed followers of Christ, they would be expected to accept EHA’s position as a Christ oriented medical mission. The usual arrangement for international volunteers offering to serve with EHA is to access their website, www.eha-health.org , click on ‘volunteers’, then follow the prompts and finally submit their application. EHA staff will then respond and the dialog ensues until arrangements are finalized re the applicant being accepted or declined.
