Dear ProLife Colleague, Sept of this year marks the 8th anniversary of the death of Holly Patterson. You did not know Holly. She was a lovely blond just 18 year old girl in California who had an unplanned pregnancy. On Sept 10, mid level clinicians at the Hayward, CA planned parenthood office gave her 200 mg of Mifeprex (1/3 the FDA approved dose), and told her to take 800 mg of misoprostol (twice the FDA approved dose) in 24 hours (FDA approved regimen is 48 hrs), and to take it vaginally (FDA approved regimen is oral administration). On Sept 24, she presented at the Valley Care Medical Center ER (as is common, since abortion providers generally do not take care of their complications, but rather dump them on the ER) with heavy bleeding and severe pain. She was given pain meds and sent home. On Sept 17 she presented there again, this time in C. Sordelli septic shock, and she died within hours. To honor her memory, and to warn other lovely young women, her father, Monty Patterson, built a website about Holly and about Mifeprex risks. Find it at http://www.abortionpillrisks.org/ The story is heart wrenching, the information is accurate. Obviously, Mifeprex terminates the life of an early child. In this case, it was party to the termination of the life of a healthy young woman. AAPLOG’s advice to a young woman with an unwanted pregnancy: Give your child life. Be sure that someone will desperately want to adopt your child if you are unable to be a parent at this time. This is a child made in God’s image. Give your child life.
