Webinar

Dear ProLife Colleague, The solid foundation under the prolife movement, and under AAPLOG, is that each individual is of infinite and equal value in God’s sight. Human beings are not a disposable commodity because they are mentally or physically impaired, or they are inconvenient at this time, or because they are the wrong race, or were “unplanned.” Human beings are valuable because God Created us, and God values us. The Utilitarian approach says that we are valuable to the degree we are useful or productive (Useful to whom? Productive for whom?). Children with significant disabilities are often looked at as disposable. What if your patient delivered a child with no arms, or no legs. What would you tell your patient? AAPLOG is ProLife, and we make announcements for Catholic, Protestant and other organizations who share our values. The following invitation, from the National Catholic Partnership on Disability. is to a webinar this coming week regarding children born with disabilities. “October approaches with our annual commemoration of Respect Life Month. We are writing to ask that you participate in an important online training (webinar) on Tuesday, October 5 from 1:00 – 2:30 pm EDT, on supporting families who receive a prenatal diagnosis of a disability or lethal condition, and encourage others to join you. The webinar, sponsored by the National Catholic Partnership on Disability (NCPD), will be held in front of a live audience at The Catholic University of America. More information is found at www.ncpd.org. The National Catholic Partnership on Disability (NCPD) online training seminars (“webinars”) offer rich formation opportunities for dioceses and partnering organizations. NCPD webinars provide new information to help families, people with disabilities and those in parish and diocesan ministries to find the resources they need to become educated, formed in faith and strengthened to address the onset or continuing experience of a disabling condition. . For more information, visit www.ncpd.org. Should the date and time conflict with other priorities, a replay version will be available for use at any time on the NCPD website by mid October.” AAPLOG note: For encouraging real life stories of 2 men born without arms or legs, and now aged about 30, go to http://chetmcdoniel.com/ and http://www.lifewithoutlimbs.org/ Read about a lovely girl, now 18, born without legs at http://www.facebook.com/note.php?note_id=407749311983 Be encouraged that God can make good come out of your difficult situation.
